Scholarship Fund Established

Scholarship Fund Established

Thanks to Mr Michael Broomfield, Manager of the Western Australia Office of the Australian Scholarships Group (ASG WA), we have formally establish a Scholarship Fund. The Fund will open the door for students who cannot otherwise afford school expenses, vocational training courses, University tuition and living expenses, to be able to pursue their dream of a quality education without obstacle.

The establishment of a Scholarship Fund will allow us to fulfill one of our missions: to identify outstanding students and foster their education by providing student scholarships.

The skills and talents of younger children need to be nurtured so they have the freedom to choose their career path later on in life. The Fund will also be used to help younger children to achieve positive educational outcomes.

Annually, ASG WA’s pledge of $1 for every enrollment received will be able to sustain at least several major scholarships per year and a significant number of smaller stipends for students in Nepal.

Michael is extending the charitable work started within his own family. In 2000, he visited the village of Astam and developed a relationship with the community. It was Michael who introduced his father, Barry Broomfield to the village. As a result of his visit to the village in 2004, Barry established a sister school relationship between Gingin District High School in Western Australia and the Bhumeshwor Lower Secondary School where assistance from Australia has allowed the children in Astam greater access to a quality education.

Astam is where the Foundation will begin its first project and will add another layer of assistance towards child education and community empowerment.

The establishment of a scholarship program will add more depths to the possibilities afforded to the children.
